If we truly wanted to encourage innovation

A lot opponents of “taxing the rich” often say that if we taxed CEOs more, we would discourage innovation. They somehow believe that if society wanted a small share of the second billion in someone’s bank account, that that person would be discouraged to chase the third billion and in the process, our society would lose out on “innovative ideas.”

What I notice is that people who make these arguments almost never apply the same logic to poor people. How many innovative ideas could be birthed into the world if people weren’t worried about survival? How can we…
